The Empire of Britannia invaded Japan using Mech’s and have forced all Japanese to use the new name 11. Those that convert to the Britannians will be well off while those that stay with their true heritage of Japan will be called 11 and be discriminated against by the Britannians.

Lelouche an average high school student from the Britannian’s side regularly gambles against the dukes and wins to get money. On the way to school he ran into a few terrorists that were stealing a military top secret weapon from the Britannian’s, not knowing this he goes down to the crash site to help them when the terrorists suddenly start running again. The top secret weapon, a girl, gives Lelouche her power the ‘Geass’ which in return he must fulfill her request also. The Geass allows him to mind control people for an amount of time to get info or follow his orders.

Lelouche wanting to bring down Britannia, uses his powers, allies with the terrorists, and is formerly known as Zero by the terrorists. He continues to go against the military as if it was a simple chess game and continues to succeed. Although things at the school get more hectic as he notices one of the terrorist is in his class, and his friends are also starting to wonder where he goes all day, and why he is always so tired during school suddenly.
